United States of America
A country as big and varied as the USA could seem to offer too much choice for a holiday, but our experts can advise on every destination. Dubai
The UAE has a subtropical climate, so skies generally stay blue and cloud cover is rare. Rain is even scarcer – any that does trickle down usually falls between November and April. And it’s these months that are the best time to visit. At this time of year, temperatures hover around the mid-20s – great for sightseeing and sunbathing. If you do visit during the summer, though, come armed with plenty of sun block. The temperatures can reach up to 45 degrees, and lots of outdoor activities are closed for the season as a result of the heat. Thankfully, there are plenty of air-conditioned buildings to chill out in.
Phuket
As Thailand’s biggest island, Phuket has around 90 miles of coastline to its name. And the sea has nibbled coves and bays out of every stretch of it. Not every strand of sand can be tarred with the same brush, though. Some beaches, like Patong, are really lively, while others, like Kamala, live life in a lower gear.
Eating out takes on a new meaning in Phuket Town. Trail blaze your way around the food stands at the weekend market on Chao Fa West Road and eat in the open air. Another highlight of the after-dark scene is Phuket FantaSea in Kamala. There’s a 2,000-person theatre here where you can watch acrobats and aerial ballet on the stage.
Seychelles
With its breath-taking combination of sights and sounds, this cosmopolitan destination is a feast for the senses and provides the perfect setting for an exotic island retreat. For those who dream about relaxing in comfort and luxury, the Seychelles islands provide countless opportunities for rest and tranquillity. Additionally, this idyllic nation caters for discerning thrill-seekers who travel the globe in search of incomparable diving and sailing opportunities.
